About Us
Meramec Valley Ki Society (MVKS) was founded by Sue Shepard in 1999. We are a member of the Midland Ki Federation and are a satellite school of St. Louis Ki Society.
We train in the art of Shin Shin Toitsu Aikido, also known as Ki Aikido. Exercises are tailored specifically to nurture our understanding of unifying our mind and our body.
Classes are typically an hour and a half long. We cover self-defense, mind-body unification, and relaxation. The purpose of our art is to understand how the basic principles of mind-body unification extends to our daily life, from interactions with friends, family, and co-workers to interactions with unexpected confrontations.
