Uniforms are available for purchase through MVKS, but are optional for training. You can wear sweatpants and a t-shirt or other loose fitting clothing.
Watches, earrings, necklaces, and other jewelries should be taken off before training.
Training will be done in bare feet. Socks should not be worn during class.
Testing is optional. You do not have to pursue ranks to train with us at Meramec Valley Ki Society. You will receive the same instructions as those who are pursing a rank.
If you decide that you want to pursue ranks, you must become a member of Ki Society International. Adult yearly dues to Ki Society are $75, and are required for the first test.
Adult testing is provided 3 or 4 times per year at St. Louis Ki Society (near Forest Park). There is a test for Ki ranking and a test for Aikido ranking. Ki rankings must be achieved prior to Aikido ranking. These tests are often taken on the same day. Adult aikido rank and Ki testing fees vary by level. Testing is done through Ki Society International and St. Louis Ki Society. The price for the test varies with rank.
